Experience

Flash Developer
Via Training, Inc.
March 2002 - September 2002

URL: http://www.hpinfolab.com

Platform: Apache on Linux

Via Training hired me in March 2002 as an HTML contractor, working on a project related to ADA compliance. I was hired full time in April 2002 as a Flash developer, though I still did as much other web-related work as was available. Before I accepted the full time position, I told Via that there was a distinct possibility that we would be moving to Fort Lauderdale, Florida for family reasons. They still hired me, much to my pleasure, and I enjoyed working there until we moved in August 2002.

Internet Developer
Flying Rhinoceros, Inc.
June 2000 - September 2001

Platform: IIS on Windows NT/2000

Flying Rhinoceros hired me as an all-around internet developer. Using all of the primary tools of an internet developer and Macromedia Flash, I helped develop websites like FRABOOM.com, InsectSafari.com, Fraboomerang.com. My duties ranged from cleaning up WYSIWYG HTML to developing Flash pieces that are dynamically updated using databases. I worked closely with a talented team of developers on many projects, and conversely, I developed several complete websites--design, development, and implementation--alone.

Web Production Manager
George Fox University
July 1999 - June 2000

URL: email me for access to a special staging site that reflects the work I did for George Fox University

Platform: Solaris (Unix)

George Fox University hired me to completely redevelop their main website. I was the only developer on the project. I designed the new look of the site; wrote all of the HTML; used a considerable amount of SSI and a series of cascading style sheets to simplify management; developed a mySQL/PERL solution for press releases, a yearly calendar of events, and a dynamic campus map. I especially enjoyed working with a wide range of people, from college professors to the president of the college. The site has recently been totally redone, and much of the work I did is gone. Email me for access to a special staging site that reflects the work I did on georgefox.edu.

Creator, writer, designer
haub.net
March 1999 - present

URL: http://haub.net

Platform: Linux

A Project Cool Site of the Day, August 19, 1998

A personal website where I explore the nature of the Web. I am especially interested in what I call the "extraordinary ordinary." I believe there is a tremendous amount of beauty wrapped up in ordinary life, and I am dedicated to exploring this belief in whatever ways I can. I keep a fairly regular journal, write poetry and short stories, develop Web-based art, and keep in contact with a wide range of individuals around the world who inspire and encourage me.
